Why listen to us?

Looking to break free from our everyday mundane 9 to 5 jobs and experience living and working in the mountains, our first attempt at finding work as chalet hosts was harder than we expected! But with a little effort, patience and persistence we finally made it. That was over 10 years ago and we haven't looked back since.

Now we want to use our experiences to help you. Whilst there is a plenty of information available when it comes to making job applications, generic advice won't get you very far. It is also all to easy to become overwhelmed and lose motivation.  This course is uniquely tailored to helping you find work as a chalet host bringing all the information you need together in one place.

So get ready, and let us help you along the way to succeeding with your ambition to getting that job and joining us in the mountains!

Back in 2009, before we started working as chalet hosts, we had "proper jobs"!
Now you're more likely to find us in fancy dress on a night out, with Steve sporting his classic Freddie Mercury look!
That, or we will be up a mountain on top of the world, loving life!

FAQ'S

  • Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who wants some help with getting a job as a chalet host. Maybe you are trying to put together your CV for the first time or have an old outdated version? Perhaps you’ve not got much experience with interviews or are just curious how the application process and selection is different for the chalet host job? Whatever background or experience you come with, if this is your first time trying to get a job as a chalet host then this is the course for you.

  • How long will it take to complete the course?

The course is made up of several chapters each with a selection of individual lessons. Overall, we anticipate the course will take you approximately 3-4 hours to complete. You can start and stop the course as often as you like and come back where you left off. The course also includes worksheets, templates and handouts for you to read and complete in your own time. Once you have finished the course you will then be in the best possible position to make a start on writing your own CV, covering letter and menu plan.

  • Will completing this course guarantee me a job as a chalet host?

No, sorry! Whist we can assure you that we will provide you with the best possible methods to help you get a job as a chalet host, we are not able to guarantee you an interview or job placement. There are simply too many factors outside of our control that prevent us from guaranteeing results, including: • your commitment to the process • the quality of other applicants • your interview performance • your fit to the role you select

  • Is the course worth it?

Yes, it is a worthwhile investment. Sure, you could put together an application without this course, but you will stand a better chance of being successful by completing it and following our advice. Chalet hosting is a great job so don’t be surprised that competition for jobs is fierce so your application needs to be good. Whilst we encourage you to make use of additional online resources, we recognise how overwhelming it can be to find the most useful tools. So, in producing this course, we have brought together our own learning, knowledge, understanding and experience all in one place for you to benefit from.

  • If I am booked onto one of the residential courses do I need to buy this course in addition?

If you book onto one of our residential courses, then this online course will be provided prior to your attendance and included in the overall fee. You will not be required to buy it separately. Please note that if you access this online course and then subsequently withdraw your place on the residential course, the fee would be taken from your deposit if it is refundable under our terms and conditions.

  • Can I do this course as a standalone course?

Yes. You do not need to book onto any other course run by Fresh Tracks Chalet Hosting and Cookery School to complete this course. We would however recommend that you check out our other courses that are available which give you more practical experience, knowledge and confidence in carrying out the chalet host role.

  • Will you write my CV, covering letter and menu plan as part of this course?

No, that’s down to you. Whilst we endeavour to provide you with as much help, advice and support as possible we are not going to write and produce your application documents for you. It is very much a personal task to complete your own CV, covering letter and menu plan and you will need to use these to show your own style and personality.

  • Who do I contact if I need help accessing the course and the material?

If you are struggling with accessing the material, please get in touch with us on 07497368663 or email [email protected] and we will do our best to help.

  • What if I want more support at the end of the course?

Please get in contact with us directly if, on completion of this course, you feel you would like further assistance. We have previously provided CV reviews, covering letter checks, one to one tuition and mock interviews. If you are booked onto one of the residential courses, then let us know as some additional assistance with your application is included in the cost of the residential. If you have purchased this course as a standalone course, costings for the level and extent of any additional services will be provided on request.
